You can never escape the choices that you make.
I have always admired the technique of typography shaping around a subject. The hand written style on the photography with characteristics added to the words to help emphasise.
Looking through my previous photos of the year, I found this photo of my friend from January when it was snowing. This photo has the perfect space to add in typography. I wanted to use words that mean something to her, these are lyrics from a song that she wrote about her relationship with her grandfather. But I wanted the words to possibly mean to other people too.
Placing tracing paper on top of the photo and using pencil allows me to try out different positions and styles of the text. Then I took it onto illustrator using the blob tool to trace other the text. This keeps the handwritten style without it being to messy.
